The Dawoodi Bohra community's Arabic Academy in Andheri East was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Mumbai on February 10—a few weeks after his last visit on January 19. PM Modi and Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin, the current global leader of the Dawoodi Bohra community and the 53rd Dai al-Mutlaq, shared the dais during the ceremony. In his address, PM Modi stated that "be it environment conservation or spreading the word on millets, Bohra community can take the lead on many important global matters. The Bohras can also perform the role of brand ambassadors during India's G20 presidency." He further added that "Vikas is important for India & so is 'Viraasat'. India is moving ahead with Tradition & modernisation at the same time. Our govt is emphasising on digitisation of our ancient texts, irrespective of the community, for our future generations."
