NSW records 1,218 new local COVID cases, six deaths

Premier Gladys Berejiklian says New South Wales has recorded 1,218 new local COVID cases and six deaths related to the outbreak.

“We extend our deepest condolences to six families of loved ones who died who had COVID,” she said.

“Three people in their 80s, three people in their 70s, four of them were unvaccinated and two of them had only had one dose of the vaccine."

Ms Berejiklian said a record 834,000 people came forward in the state to be vaccinated over the past week.
