Kangana stokes fresh row, targets Mahatma Gandhi. Says offering cheek gets 'bheekh'

Actor Kangana Ranaut stirred up controversy with her ‘offering cheek’ remark. The Manikarnika actor shared a post on Mahatma Gandhi on her social media. Kangana said ‘offering another cheek’ gets only ‘bheekh’. Sharing a post on Mahatma Gandhi, Kangana said ‘either you are a Gandhi or Netaji supporter’. You can’t be both, choose and decide: Kangana. The newspaper article’s headline read, ‘Gandhi, others agreed to hand over Netaji’. Kangana said the freedom fighters were ‘handed over’ to the British by those 'who had no courage' to fight oppression but were 'power-hungry'. Taking potshots at Mahatma Gandhi, Kangana said ‘choose your heroes wisely’. Kangana claimed Gandhi ‘never supported Bhagat Singh or Subhas Chandra Bose’. Kangana had earlier sparked a row when she said India’s freedom in 1947 was ‘bheekh’. She defended her remarks, even offered to return her Padma Shri if someone could prove her wrong.
