Pulwama (J-K), Nov 03 (ANI): Soar in production of saffron crop in Kashmir was attributed to favourable weather and timely rain in Pampore, Kashmir this year. For the past few years, due to the dry spell and lack of irrigation, saffron production had decreased. This year, however, has proved to be a blessing for saffron growers of Pampore, as production has been satisfactory. Since, the economy of Pampore is largely dependent on saffron crop, government officials constantly visit the fields to provide assistance to farmers. (KP)
