Rep. #MattGaetz and any future children have been threatened to be killed by a former cameraman for #ABC, #NBC, and #CNN.
Eugene "#GeneHuelsman, 58, was detained in Los Angeles after a federal grand jury in Pensacola, Florida, filed an indictment against him.
Even though the indictment was filed under seal in May, there appeared to be no attempt to arrest him until Gaetz complained on the House floor that the Justice Department was not taking threats against him seriously enough.
"I believe someone is attempting to assassinate me, and if they succeed, I want my constituents and family to know who prevented their arrest," Gaetz said last Wednesday.
He also claimed that someone had threatened him on Twitter and traveled to #DC, but that the Justice Department refused to arrest the suspect, despite Capitol Police's recommendation.
Huelsman has been nominated for five Emmys for his work on NBC's Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
Gaetz acknowledged to #Politico on Tuesday that he was the subject of the threats, despite the fact that he was not named in the indictment.
"In May, an indictment was issued, and it was unsealed the week after my critique," #Gaetz stated.
"If they cared about our safety, they'd arrest all of the people who break federal law and threaten to kill us, not just a few...I believe the Justice Department is biased against #Republicans."
