After 50 Years, US-Taiwan Discuss UN Participation; China Fumes, Xi Jinping Takes Dig At US

Amid tensions with China, Taipei and Washington discussed how Taiwan can ‘meaningfully’ participate at the UN. The US State Department confirmed the news which has further miffed Beijing. The discussion come amid rising tensions between mainland China and the island. Meanwhile, Chinese President Xi Jinping took a veiled swipe at US during his speech at the United Nations. Xi Jinping’s address marked the 50th anniversary of China’s accession at the UN.
