Many fans noticed one particular fighter during the build to UFC 266 not have a national flag near his name and/or picture, this was indeed Nasrat Haqparast who is a German Born MMA Fighter who trains out of the Legendary Tristar Gym, despite being born in Germany, Nasrat family came to Germany as Refugees and for that reason he represents the Afghanistan flag every time he competes in the UFC. Fans would go on to social media and reddit to ask why Nasrat Haqparast has the world logo as his national flag, Nasrat Haqparast would respond via social media stating:
"The reason I can't raise the Afghanistan flag is : I'm only allowed to walk in or represent a flag which is recognised by the "world". Unfortunately the Afghanistan flag is not internationally recognised ANYMORE therefore I'm not allowed to walk in with it !!"
As we know Nasrat Haqparast is set to face Dan Hooker who himself was dealing with issues with his country as well, despite looking very similar to Kelvin Gastelum and correcting a UFC Commentator for getting his flag and name wrong during a fight, Nasrat Haqparast is a solid fighter and given his age has a lot of time to grow and achieve UFC Gold.
