Libation Fascination!

Libation Fascination!

Three years ago, If someone had said to me that I would become Fascinated with gin, I would have said, “No Way!” Love can entice you into Fascination for things you never considered. I was happy with my rum and bourbon. Gin wasn’t on my radar of tipples, then love enthralled me, and along with the romance came Mother’s Ruin.

I’ve waxed poetic about gin in a couple of other posts. A week devoted to Fascination needs to give another nod to the remarkable diversity of this spirit and its numerous charms. Tonic is a vital part of the G&T glory and today was also my first time using Tonic Syrup and soda instead of my beloved Fevertree tonic. It was a surprising but lovely addition. (The expressions on my face in the wee film tell the whole story!)

Experiment #255:

1. Make a Gin & Tonic and revel in the Fascination that this libation stimulates.

The relationship with the lover that introduced me to gin ended, but the Fascination for this descendant of the Dutch spirit Genever continues to deepen. When gin is good, it’s transcendent, and when it’s funky, it’s rotgut! Most of the gins I’ve had fall somewhere in between. I look forward to learning more about gin and hope to deepen my Fascination with this polarizing spirit.

Cheers to Fascination and cheers to you, dear Patrons!
