In honor of National Historic Preservation Month, join us to hear about planning efforts to establish the maritime designation area and its sustainability goals from the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation and how this supports the Seattle 2030 District Shorelines and our objectives for climate resiliency.
Speakers:
Alex Gradwohl is a Project Manager for the Washington Trust for Historic Preservation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving the places that matter in Washington State and promoting sustainable and economically viable communities through historic preservation. Alex has managed several initiatives, special projects, and events for the Washington Trust since she joined the organization in 2019.
Ellen Southard has 29 years of experience in the green building industry. She is a founding member of the Cascadia Green Building Council and Principal at Site Story, specializing in preserving and growing vibrant communities through storytelling, linking environmental and cultural sustainability. Ellen has also been a consultant to many local governments working on green building policy, parks and open space projects, and eco-tourism planning.
