Why there is Crushed Stone in RailWay? What is the Purpose of Crushed Stone in RailWay / LRT ?

Purpose:

1.) Because the stone serve as ballast,to stop the movement of RailWay

2.) To not allow Vegetation to Grow which could weaken the ground&RailWay

3.) Why theres Stone in RailWay? 1)Track Ballast/Stone serve as Drainage and Keep Off Water from Railway
