Food TV is often either very relaxing or highly stressful, depending on the show. Sometimes, a show that might be great for chilling out to can suddenly ramp up the anxiety substantially with a contestant, judge or guest who clashes with the general vibe of the proceedings.
Take Top Chef, for instance. It's welcomed plenty of guests over the years who fit in astonishingly well with the regular cast of culinary experts: Tom Colicchio, Padma Lakshmi and Gail Simmons. For instance, Anthony Bourdain kept coming back and was an absolute fan favorite. But not everyone fit in so well. Some just made things awkward. One judge, in particular, was extremely harsh.
