In this video, I show how I built this storage area with huge shelves in a basement crawl space. The shelf platforms are made of 2x6 with galvanized steel joist hangers and 3/4 plywood. The partition walls are 2x4 and 1/2 plywood. It's heavy duty lumber and hardware.
I also installed a full size access door with gate latch to make it easy to get in and out of the crawl space behind the walls.
This used to be a sloped crawl space with black plastic covering the dirt. Now it is a great storage room for storing boxes, luggage, seasonal items, wine racks, etc.
