The launch of the film 'Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar' in 2000 in the presence of stalwarts like Hema Malini and Dilip Sahib. The film was made on the life of Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar, the man credited with the making of the Constitution of India.
Mammootty played the role of Dr. Ambedkar in the film. The rest of the cast was Sonali Kulkarni , Mohan Gokhale as Mahatma Gandhi, Mrinal Kulkarni, Alisa Bosschaert, Ma Jivan Mary, Tirlok Malik, Govind Namdeo, Anjan Srivastav and Rahul Solapurkar. The film was directed by Jabbar Patel.
